Looking Back: Simple, Effective Furniture Solution for DPI (2009)

In 2009, APC won a tender with Perth Architects MKDC to supply, deliver and install a loose furniture solution for their client: Department of Planning and Infrastructure (now Department of Transport).

The department were relocating to new premises in the newly developed East Perth business district and commissioned MKDC to design a contemporary fitout that would provide a clean, simple backdrop for their fitout; and a convenient and reliable storage solution for staff.

The furniture needed to correlate with the minimalist design proposed by MKDC. The project involved an office solution that would allow colour elements of their design to take centre stage and for storage furniture to provide a neutral environment that looked good, was easy to clean and maintain, and wouldn’t date.

APC offered a comprehensive array of storage equipment including: Ezi-Slide Aislesaver® (mobile shelving); Uni-Shelf (fixed shelving); Mobile Pedestals and Tambour Cabinets; as well as various locker configurations in white satin to compliment the neutral decor.

The neutral colour plan and simple textures of the furniture provided the perfect canvass for DPI’s new office layout.

The clients were eager to move in quickly and set up operations with minimal delay therefore APC also needed to ensure they met delivery times well before practical completion. APC completed the scope within a one-week turnaround.

We look upon this successful project as another example of being chosen for our strength in providing the basics (essential quality storage items); combined with our ability to exceed expectations with our project management and installation capabilities.
