Selecting the Right Locker

With a large range of lockers available, APC can help you choose the right one to suit your needs.

Lockers provide a secure way of storing belongings and the great thing about them is they are available in many different materials, colours and sizes. But with many different options to choose from, how can you be sure to select the right locker for your facility?

One of the decisions you will need to make is to determine which material would work best for your storage area. The main options are steel, laminate, and plastic. The right choice will depend on a variety of factors, as each material has its own set of benefits.

Size

Once you’ve chosen the right material the next step is to decide which size locker and number of compartments work best. A narrower locker will make room for more units but will also limit the storage space in each locker. First, determine what you want to store in the locker and then consider how you can make the most out of your available storage space.

Type

Steel Lockers

Steel Lockers

Steel lockers are one of the most popular lockers out there due to their versatility and low cost. Steel lockers are made to withstand years of rigorous use. These lockers are suited for indoor use only, as exposure to moisture can cause them to rust. APC’s Steel lockers are designed to last for up to ten years, making them an excellent choice for schools, gyms, police stations and warehouses.

Plastic Lockers

  • ABS PLASTIC LOCKERS

ABS plastic lockers are a great choice when you need lightweight and secure storage that holds up well in areas with high humidity or moisture, as they are water resistant. ABS plastic lockers have been designed to withstand a 1000kg force and are expected to last up to five years. ABS plastic lockers are more expensive than steel lockers but are a cheaper alternative to heavy-duty plastic lockers. They are available in a range of colours, can be easily moved and are suitable for almost any environment.

  • HEAVY-DUTY PLASTIC LOCKERS

Heavy-duty plastic lockers come with the most expensive price tag compared to other types of lockers but are built to last, coming with a 20-year life expectancy. Made from High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), these lockers are well-suited in outdoor and/or wet environments like the beach or public swimming pools because they are water resistant and will not rust. They are low maintenance, easy to clean, vandal and UV proof.

Laminate Lockers

Laminate Lockers

Laminate lockers provide the functionality of a steel locker but with a more sophisticated look. They are slightly more expensive than steel lockers, due to laminate being highly resistant to damage. Laminate lockers are easy to maintain and are available in a variety of wood finishes and colours. These lockers are ideal for schools and public areas.
